Bridges open Pop-Up-Shop
![]() |
A team of 16 to 24 year old students from the Bridges Project are becoming Recycling Rivals at their Pop-Up-Shop on Thursday 22 December at the Toll Clock Shopping Centre as they compete in selling gifts they have made from recycled objects. The Bridges Project is using the event as a fun and creative way to share their money management skills, build links with the local community and raise awareness of the inventiveness in recycling objects.
The team is running the event to enter the Money for Life Challenge – a new, national competition that provides a fun way for students in further or alternative education, and their communities, to develop vital money management skills. The team is hoping that the event will help get them to the UK Grand Final in London where they could win £2,500 for the registered charity of their choice.
“Money management is challenging for everyone. Being good at managing your money is one of the most important skills that you’ll learn. So, whether you’re earning it, saving it, borrowing it or spending it, it helps to have some inside knowledge so you can make the best choices – right now and for your future. We hope that this project will not only benefit our students, but also the community with the recycling aspect of the project” said Vicky Anderson, project sponsor of the Money for Life Challenge team from the Bridges Project.
The team is made up of 5 learners from the Bridges Project who have worked hard on their innovative recycled products and look forward to seeing how they sell to their local community.
