Nominations for Shetland Central Ward open on Friday
Following the resignation of Councillor Iris Hawkins in September, nominations are sought for a new Councillor for the Shetland Central Electoral Ward.
Nominations open this Friday, 4 November. Candidates can obtain nomination forms from the Election Office, 4 Market Street, Lerwick, ZE1 0JN from 10.00 to 16.00, Monday to Friday, or they can be downloaded from the Council's elections website at: http://www.shetland.gov.uk/elections/Elections2011.asp
Completed nomination papers must be delivered to the Election Office by 16.00 on Tuesday 22 November 2011.
In the event of a contest, voting will take place between 07.00 and 22.00 on Thursday 15 December 2011.
