Audit Scotland Report
The Council has this morning received the final Report, produced by Audit Scotland under Section 102 (1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973. Paper copies of the report are available locally during office hours from the Town Hall and the Shetland Library. It is also available electronically on the Audit Scotland website (http://www.audit-scotland.gov.uk/work/local_statutory.php).
The Accounts Commission will consider this Report at a meeting on 13 May 2010. The Council expects to be advised of the Commission’s response soon after 13th May 2010. The report and response of the Accounts Commission will then be considered by Shetland Islands Council at their meeting on 19 May 2010.
The Council will not be commenting formally on the Report until that time.
