Large Print Shetland Directories
A large print version of the 2010 Shetland Telephone Directory has been published and is now available from Shetland Library. Produced through special funding from the Shetland Islands Council, the Directory will be available to all those with a sight impairment.
Distribution will be through Health Centres, and Shetland Library, including the Mobile Libraries and the Housebound Service. Directories can only be posted to those requesting them from Foula, Fetlar, Fair Isle, Papa Stour and Skerries.
Silvija Crook, Library & Information Services Manager explains “many of our customers use Large Print Books and Talking Books and they have been asking us when a new edition of the large print Directory would be available so we are absolutely delighted that we have been able to produce an updated version”.
Councillor Gussie Angus, who along with Library customer Linda Glanville launched the new Phone book today, said “ this is a real boon to those who find a normal phone book difficult to use”
All enquiries about the Large Print Directory should be made to Shetland Library, in Lerwick.
The Library is open 9.00am to 8.00pm on Mondays and Thursdays and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
