Grant Aid template document
From 1st April 2008 any organisation seeking financial assistance from grant aid schemes administered by the Council's Education & Social Care Department must comply with the requirements of the Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003 if they provide services, activities or projects for young people up to the age of 18 years old.
Organisations must also have in place policies and procedures that adequately cover child protection and welfare issues. This includes:
- Child protection policy
- Child protection procedures
- Equal opportunities policy
- Code of conduct
An eight -page template document is available here (157Kb PDF file). Organisations are asked to :
- consider the contents of this document and the implications for your group's activities
- if you agree to the contents, to then approve this document, with signatures of two committee members
- to return a copy of the signed document with your first grant application for the financial year 2008/9
Other template documents are available elsewhere, e.g. from national umbrella bodies. If your organisation has adopted another template, please include this with your first grant application for the financial year 2008/9.
