Self-Assessment for the PVG Scheme

From February 2011, the new Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme will affect many groups and organisations across Scotland who provide services to children, young people and protected adults. This replaces the previous Disclosure scheme.

The Scottish Government and Disclosure Scotland will continue to adminster the new membership scheme and they have produced online training materials and resources to provide guidance on the PVG scheme.

An important aspect of the scheme is the new concept of 'Regulated Work' either with children and/or protected adults.

There is a Self Assessment tool to help decide whether what you are doing is Regulated Work. This is a useful starting point for anyone unfamiliar with the new PVG scheme.
