Young Adults 16-25 Project

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE VOLUNTEERS TO JOIN OUR SCHEME!!

Due to the increase in demand for the Young Adults (16 to 25 years) section of the Befriending Service we are keen to recruit new volunteers.

Our scheme provides 1 to 1 support to a young adult, taking part in a wide range of activities, anything from going for a walk, swimming, canoeing or doing arts and crafts.

The young adults who join our scheme do so for a real variety of reasons. It might be that they have additional support needs such as autism or they may be isolated due to being homeless or wanting support to develop their skills and build their confidence.

It's a lot of fun, challenging and rewarding. Volunteers meet either weekly or fortnightly with the young adult they are matched to for a few hours at a time.

All volunteers will get training, full support and expenses/mileage paid. Next round of volunteer training is due to occur in May/June 2008.
