Scottish Hockey - UKCC Level 1 course
17th, 18th & 19th April 2009

Friday 6-9pm, Saturday 9-5pm & Sunday 9-5pm
Tutors from Scottish Hockey will be in Shetland to deliver this course, that is the second coaching award in the Scottish Hockey coaching scheme, after the initial Leaders Award. This is the first time that this new United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) endorsed course will run in Shetland and is a great opportunity for any hockey players to get into coaching, to develop their sport and to improve their own playing skills.
The course will cover both theory and practical elements, including:
- Coaching styles
- Warm-ups
- Grip & moving with the ball
- Receiving
- Goalscoring
- Small game play
- Health and safety
- Rules of the game

Participants should be a minimum of 16 years of age and have experience of playing hockey and/or have attended a Leader's course previously.
The course is being organised in partnership with Shetland Ladies Hockey Association.

Please return application form and payment through Club reps to Shetland Ladies Hockey Association. These places will be subsidised by the Association and so are offered to local hockey players for £50.00 per participant. Please make cheques payable to "SLHA". |
Please return application forms and payment to Hayfield House, as below. The cost of these places will be £100.00 per person - please make cheques payable to "Shetland Islands Council" |
