Shetland Domestic Abuse Partnership

Remit

The overall aim of the partnership and its action plan is to eliminate domestic abuse throughout Shetland. The Partnership will do this by promoting a co-ordinated and multi-agency approach to addressing and tackling this issue.

In accordance with the National Strategy there are three objectives to this overall aim:

  • Prevention - To prevent, remove or diminish the risk of abuse by various means
  • Protection - To challenge and positively change peoples attitudes to domestic abuse
  • Provision - To provide adequate services to deal with the consequences of abuse against women & children, & to help both to rebuild their lives
