Housing Strategy Group

Remit

The Housing Strategies Steering Group is a multi agency group which develops, implements and monitors our main housing strategies (which are statutory requirements).

The main strategies are:

• The Local Housing Strategy
• Homelessness Strategy
• Fuel Poverty Strategy
• Supporting People Strategy
• Tenant Participation Strategy
• Building Strong, Safe and Attractive Communities

The Housing Strategies Steering group was brought together to co-ordinate and avoid duplication as we developed most of the strategies above. Now that the strategies/initiatives are all largely developed the role of the steering group is moving more towards monitoring and review.

We recently held a review of the steering group and have some plans to change the frequency of meetings, who is involved etc, however this won't be progressed until May. Meetings were every 6 weeks, but until we've completed our review, no further meetings are arranged.
