Mapping & Technical
The Technical Team provide mapping, reprographic, graphic design and technical support to Infrastructure Services and is responsible for Shetland Islands Council Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Ordinance Survey data.
The Technical Team also supply Ordinance Survey maps to the general public for use with planning and licensing applications.
Maps are available at the following scales at A4. 6 prints are supplied as standard.

Maps can be obtained by visiting Infrastructure Services at Grantfield. Technical Staff are generally able to provide this service on a drop-in basis while you wait and are available from 9am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, Monday to Friday. For operational reasons there may be periods when technical staff are not available so please phone to confirm if travelling to Lerwick specifically for this service. Maps cannot be ordered by phone or email due to the need to ensure the accuracy of the site/location covered. Alternatively, there are a number of online retailers who can supply maps for planning and licensing applications.
Payment is accepted by cash, cheque or debit/credit card. We are unable to invoice for maps.
