Welcome to Shetland's Involving Communities Guidelines.

This Toolkit is designed as a reference and learning source for those planning and carrying out activities to engage with the public in planning, delivering and evaluating services across Shetland. It will provide you with information to guide you through the whole process of engaging with people in the planning and delivery of your service.

Starting with 'Before You Start' work your way through the Stages and use the handy checklists and resources along the way. This gives you the option to delve as deep as you need into the wealth of detail and information on consultation and engagement methodology. Don't forget to let us know about your consultation/engagement by logging your intention to consult/engage. Just click on the 'Consult/Engage Log Form' below, print then complete and return to the Policy Unit, Town Hall, Lerwick, or alternatively go to Before You Start and e-mail one.
