Feedback

Key Points from Project Plan Checklist

  1. Have you informed stakeholders about the results of the exercise and the action to be taken?

Accessible feedback will be provided both on the results and how they have been used, in order to encourage greater public participation in the future.

Once the decision/s has/ve been made in the light of the results, the reasons for making the decision, including the weight given to each main viewpoint, must be explained. It should be identified how you will make sure the audience receives the information – how you will tell them?

Policies or proposals that have been arrived at as a result of such exercises (or with a narrower range of stakeholders, if that was appropriate) should be thought of as a moral contract with the public or those particular stakeholders. They should not be set aside, reversed, abandoned or substantially altered without further comparable consultation/engagement having first taken place.

As good practice, please upload your collated results, including any secondary findings, onto the datashare site, or please contact the the Policy Unit on 01595 744537, policy@shetland.gov.uk or write to Policy Unit, Town Hall, Lerwick. Take care to ensure this data is aggregate and, if necessary, has been made anonymous.

When providing feedback ensure that for quantitative methods data is anonymous in line with the Data Protection Act and that you provide clear feedback.
