Children's Services are providing free access to Period Products for anyone who menstruates and is attending a school in Shetland or who is Home Educated.
How to Order
You can complete the below order form to request a one-off 3 month supply of products or to sign up to a 3 monthly subscription that will be sent directly to your door. Delivery may take up to 28 days. If you require your order urgently, please contact us by email.

Shetland Islands Council are now offering free access to period products for anyone who needs them through Community Venues and more recently, an online ordering option through Hey Girls. For more information, please visit the Access to Free Period Products webpage.

There are also reuseable, environmentally friendly products available which will be supplied as a 'one-off'.

‘Hey Girls’ provide 3 types of plastic free reusable products:
Menstrual Cup:
- Can be worn up to 12 hours
- Available in small or large
- Can last from 7 to 10 years
Period Pads:
- Work the same as a regular pad; change when necessary
- Can be worn in the day time and at night
- Can be rinsed and washed in the washing machine
Period Pants:
- Can be worn in the day time and at night
- Available in small, medium or large
- Can be rinsed and washed in the washing machine
By changing to reusable products, this can help reduce waste. All the ‘Hey Girls’ products are eco-friendly.
