School Meals / Clothing Grant

As from 6 April 2009, pupils will be eligible for free school meals and a clothing grant if their parents or carers are in receipt of one of the following:

• Income support
• Income - based Jobseekers Allowance
• Child Tax Credit, but not Working Tax Credit, with an income of less than £16,040 (level set April 2009)
• Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Any income related element of Employment and Support Allowance

You are entitled to a clothing grant only if you get

• Working tax credit and are in possession of a NHS exemption form.

Please note that if you get working tax credit you are not eligible for free school meals.
