Emergency Planning
Local Radio Stations
As part of the local Emergency Plan, arrangements are in place, that in the event of an Emergency, local radio stations BBC Radio Shetland (92.7 FM) and SIBC (96.2 FM) will broadcast public information announcements to update and possibly advise those in areas affected by emergencies. These may be repeated on Regional radio and television stations.
During an Emergency, formal press conferences will be held at 11.00 and 16.00 hours (4 pm).
Further to this, information will be released to the media as the emergency develops.
