Emergency Planning

What the Council does after an Emergency

An emergency will be declared as being over by a public service announcement on the local radio stations.

The vast burden of this responsibility usually falls to the Local Authority and they can still be involved in the aftermath of an emergency long after the other Emergency Services have left the scene.

As part of the response to the emergency, the actions of the Emergency Team will be independently monitored and reported upon. If there are lessons to be learned, the Council Emergency Plan (pdf) will be modified to incorporate these.
