Environmental Health carry out the Health and Safety at Work Act functions for Shetland Islands Council.

Premises, which are subject to inspection by local authorities, include offices, retailing outlets, warehouses, hotels, catering establishments, sports and leisure facilities, consumer services and places of worship.
