Disability and Mobility Assistance
Journey Planning and Pre-Departure information
Before considering any journey, passengers with disabilities have to be confident that they will be able to complete their trip.
To assist you, we have commissioned Disability Shetland to host a website on our behalf, detailing all the accessibility and mobility issues which you may encounter when using our ferries

DISABILITY and MOBILITY INFORMATION
Do you require assistance?
If you require assistance in any way, please inform a crew member when you arrive at the terminal, or on board, and we will be only too happy to arrange someone to help you. Assistance will only be available once the ferry has berthed and discharged. Any such assistance may be limited during adverse weather conditions.
If you need to discuss your requirements in advance please call 01806 244 225 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
On arrival at the terminal
Please advise us at the time of booking or when arriving at terminals, of any special requirements you may have (e.g. use of lifts). If you wish assistance please contact a crew member.
Please let a crewmember know if you would like to be parked near the lift (where fitted), or if you require any other form of assistance.
If arriving by vehicle, you should attract the Loading Officer’s by using the hazard warning lights.
If you are travelling alone, any member of the ship’s staff will be happy to assist you in any way.
If you require any assistance during passage, please ask any member of the ship’s staff.
Important safety information for hearing-impaired passengers
We realise that not all impairments are visible. We rely heavily on the ship's public address (PA) system to communicate important safety information. Any message over the PA system is preceded by a "bing-bong". At the start of your trip, a pre-recorded message is broadcast.
If you feel you would be unable to hear these or other announcements clearly, a crewmember will be happy to assist you.
Please make yourself known to a member of the ship’s crew on arrival so that they can assist you in the event of an emergency.
At the end of your journey
If you require assistance on disembarkation, or help with your luggage, please ask a crewmember to help.
If you need to take extra time to make your way back to the car deck again, please tell us in good time.
We hope you find this information useful and that it helps to make your journey a pleasant one. Have a good voyage!
