It is a Scottish Government requirement that every local authority in Scotland has in place a comprehensive housing strategy for their area, covering both social and private housing.

Consultation on the draft 2011-2016 Local Housing Strategy took place between April and June 2011. The consultation included an online survey as well as a number of local meetings and drop-in information sessions in each electoral ward and with particular groups.
