Minute's silence and lowering of IGA flag in memory of those who died in London on 7 July 2005
All General Team Managers from the 24 Islands represented at the NatWest Island Games XI will assemble at the IGA flag at the centre of the athletics track at the Clickimin Leisure Complex. The IGA flag will be lowered to half mast for the day, Brian Partington, Vice Chairman of the IGA, will say a prayer and there will be a minute's silence; in honour of those who died in London on 7 July 2005.

Traditional NatWest Island Games tree planting ceremony
Bo Frykenstam, Chairman of the IGA, John Scott Chairman of the Shetland Island Games Organising Committee, and other members of the IGA and Shetland Island Games Organising Committee will assemble at 'the flower park' for the traditional tree planting ceremony.
