Hi viz invitation to the Council Chamber
Shetland Islands Council’s Road Safety staff will be holding an event in the Town Hall Chamber on Wednesday 17 October at 7.00pm, to raise awareness of the importance for horses and riders of wearing high visibility garments.
Road Safety Officer, Elaine Skinley: “With winter around the corner, we really want to highlight the importance of being seen when you’re out and about. The event gives us a chance to take a quick look over the appropriate parts of the Highway Code, before giving a demonstration of high visibility gear for horses and their riders.
“We will also have a small supply of free hi vis vests, pens, posters and leaflets available on the night. So, if you need a quick reminder, please join us in the Chamber – definitely the place to be seen.”
