Community Council By-Elections – Close of Nominations

The Returning Officer for Community Council Elections in Shetland would like to remind electors that nominations for vacancies to Community Council Wards throughout Shetland close at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday 1 February 2011.   Following the main elections in November,  49 vacancies remained, and the by-election process started on 14 January, but 36 vacancies still remain as at 12 noon today, as follows:

Nomination forms can be obtained from the  relevant Community Council Clerk, contact details are on the Council’s website http://www.shetland.gov.uk/coins/allCommunityCouncils.asp  or by contacting the Returning Officer’s staff on Lerwick 744 554 or by e-mail to returning.officer@shetland.gov.uk  but must be completed and returned by 4 p.m. on Tuesday 1 February 2011.
