Cloudman tours Shetland schools
A new and exciting performance of Cloudman by Ailie Cohen and Lewis Heatherington will be touring around Shetland primary schools next week. The performance is a blend of puppetry, storytelling and sumptuous visuals where the audience are asked to follow clues to the very top of Cloud Mountain. If they are lucky, they may see something very special indeed.
Jen Edgar plays Cloudia a geeky and obsessed scientist sporting thick specs. She goes to the top of the mountain where she sees tiny white footprints and waits for the fluffy ones to make their appearance.
Cloudia has always had her head in the clouds. She is a cloud expert and all of her life she has dreamt of seeing a Cloud Man – an extremely rare creature who lives a quiet life high up in the sky.
Noelle Henderson, the Council’s Creative Links Officer is delighted that the show will be touring around Shetland schools. She said:
“It is a fabulous opportunity for some of our younger bairns to get a chance to see a live performance, perhaps for the first time. We are delighted that this beautiful show has made it to Shetland following a successful run as part of The Made in Scotland Showcase during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe”.
As well as schools there will be a public performance of Cloudman at the Garrison Theatre on Saturday 8th October at 2pm for 4-7 year olds and their families. Tickets can be booked at the Shetland Box Office 01595 74555.
