Davie Sandison has been elected as the new Member for the Central Ward.

Total first preference votes for each candidate were:

• Stephen Morgan - 116
• Clive Richardson - 29
• Davie Sandison - 332
• Ian Scott - 107
• Scotty Ven der Tol - 27
• Robert Williamson - 75

The two lowest placed candidates, Scotty Van der Tol and Clive Richardson, dropped out of the contest at this stage. Their votes were allocated according to the next preference shown on their ballot papers.

After the next preference votes were counted, Davie Sandison achieved the required quota to be elected and was then declared as the new Member for the Central Ward.

• Stephen Morgan - 124
• Davie Sandison - 352
• Ian Scott - 115
• Robert Williamson - 81

The total turnout for the by-election was 30.45% with 686 valid votes cast.
