Electoral Registration Reminder
In August, all households in Shetland were asked to complete a form to update details on the electoral register. If your name does not appear on the Register of Electors, then you will not be able to vote.
70% of households have responded so far and reminder forms have now been sent out to all those who have not replied.
Senior Electoral Assistant for Shetland, Ian Leslie said:
“Please ensure that the form for your household has either been returned or the reminder form is returned as soon as possible. Anyone who will turn 18 during the next year should be included on the form.
“The new register will be published on 1 December 2011 and a return is required from all properties in Shetland”.
