Press Release
Former Executive Director of Infrastructure leaves Council
Former Executive Director of Infrastructure Services, Gordon Greenhill, will officially leave the Council on 30 November 2011. Mr Greenhill, who joined the Council in 2008, leaves under voluntary severance arrangements after the Council's recent senior management restructure exercise.
Council Chief Executive Alistair Buchan said "I'd like to thank Gordon for his contributions as Executive Director over the years and for his enthusiastic input into a number of important projects during this time”.
Mr Greenhill said, “I have enjoyed working for the Council and the people of Shetland, even through some of the more challenging times, and hope that the Council is successful with its objectives.”
The Council’s senior management reorganisation process was achieved on time over a 3 month period. So far, the process has delivered year-on-year savings of over £700,000. The eventual target is to deliver over £1million ongoing savings as part of the Council's overall target of saving £26 million over the next 2 years.
