Services Committee - Decisions on proposed school closures
Shetland Islands Council’s Services committee voted this morning to close Uyeasound Primary School in Unst and Burravoe Primary in Yell, following the recommendations of its education officials as part of the Blueprint for Education.
These decisions have still to be ratified by the full council.
This morning’s votes were taken on a roll-call basis and were 13-7 in the case of Uyeasound, 12-8 for the closure of Burravoe.
Shetland Islands Council’s Services committee voted this afternoon to keep North Roe and Sandness Primary Schools open.
These decisions have still to be ratified by the full council.
This afternoon’s votes were taken on a roll-call basis and were 11-8 in the case of North Roe and 13-6 to retain Sandness.
