Shetland Amenity Trust Maintain Investors in People Standard
Shetland Amenity Trust has again been awarded the Investors in People Standard following assessment. The Trust first achieved this recognition in August 2008 and has been reviewed every three years since, each time successfully maintaining the Standard.
Investors in People assessor Hilary Crick commented in her report; “Having carried out the assessment process in accordance with the guidelines provided by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, I am satisfied beyond any doubt that Shetland Amenity Trust meets the requirements of the Investors in People Standard.”
The Standard is applied to all areas of Shetland Amenity Trust’s work, including Shetland Museum and Archives and all natural and cultural heritage projects.
Specific areas of good practice mentioned in the report include the way core values are communicated throughout the organisation. The motivation of staff and the Trust’s dedication to the learning and development of staff to maintain a reliant and skilled workforce was also commended.
Business and Personnel Manager Raymond Mainland said “We are delighted that the Trust has continued to achieve the Investors in People Standard. The Standard is very important to everyone here and the fact that we have maintained this for the last 12 years is a tribute to the effort made by all staff and management working together. Staff learning and development will help us continue to promote and maintain Shetland’s rich heritage and culture for many years to come.”
