Important Road Information
Shetland Islands Council’s roads engineers are currently working in several areas across the mainland, dealing with damage caused by last night’s prolonged and heavy rain.
- The A968 is currently closed at Dales Lees, Delting, north of the Collafirth Junction – the road is expected to open later today (Sunday).
- The road at Maywick, Dunrossness is now passable with care after the road was closed by landslide last night.
- The A970 at Levenwick is passable, operating as a single carriageway with traffic lights in place. Drivers should expect some delays while the road is being cleared – the road is expected to open fully later this afternoon
Flooding caused by blocked drains, etc. has left debris on many roads, and drivers are being advised to take care as a matter of course.
