Building Standards Survey
Whether you use a building as a home, a place of work or for entertainment, regulations state that it should be safe, comfortable and access should be convenient for all.
Team leader of the Council's Building Standards Service, Alan Jarden, says, “Good buildings that meet or exceed current government building standards are part of the legacy we leave to future generations. The Building Standards Service verifies applications made for building warrant against national mandatory standards and guidance.”
A pre-application consultation service is available between 9.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on weekdays, and at other times by appointment. Information on the building warrant process is available from the Planning Service and you will also find links to forms, legislation and other related government and service groups.
We are always looking at how we can improve customer service, whether you are self-building a new extension, converting your loft space, or engaged professionally as a developer, engineer, or architect Your suggestions and comments are invited through our customer survey.
Ends.
