Consultation on proposed closure of Quarff Primary School and Consultation on proposed change of catchment area for Cunningsburgh Primary School
The Services Committee on 18 March 2004 agreed to commence a consultation process on the proposed closure of Quarff Primary School and change of the catchment area for Cunningsburgh Primary School. This consultation process is a statutory requirement for the Education Service which is set out in the Education (Publication and Consultation Etc.) (Scotland) Regulations 1981.
A letter informing parents and school board members of this consultation process has been sent. There may be people in the Cunningsburgh/Quarff area who have children aged 3 – 5 years that the Education Service is not aware of and they are asked to contact Helen Budge at the Education Service on 01595 744064.
The final decision on the proposals will be made by the elected members of Shetland Islands Council.
