Shetland Hall-i-Day - an Event for Community Halls
Following on from last year's successful Regeneration Event, this year's focus will be on halls. It will take the form of a day dedicated to Shetland's Community Halls - ' Shetland Hall-i-day '.
The Shetland Hall-i-Day will take place on Saturday 23rd October 2004, from 10am - 5pm in the Brae Hall.
Last year a questionnaire was given out to all halls in Shetland whereby a Halls Profile was compiled. This Profile highlighted some key issues for halls and their committees. These included training needs, safe event management, alcohol, sustainability, funding, legislation and many more. During the Shetland Hall-i-Day, hall representatives will be given the opportunity to discuss and seek advice on these issues and other relevant topics.
Attendees will also get the chance to speak to other hall committees and visit information stands including local wholesalers, alcohol advice and health and safety.
Further details, including a programme, will be available in the near future.
A range of SIC services are working in partnership with Volunteer Centre Shetland, Northern Constabulary, Alcohol Advice Centre, SADAT, Shetland Enterprise, Shetland Arts Trust, Shetland Community Drugs Team and Health Promotions to organise this event.
