Blydehaven Nursery gets top Marks
The Blydehaven Nursery at Shetland College has achieved the highest possible evaluation in a report published today by the Care Commission and HM Inspectors of Education.
The report follows an inspection visit earlier this year which found every aspect of provision at the nursery to be very good. The key strengths of the nursery were
- The attractive and welcoming environment and family atmosphere
- The high quality of children's experiences and the very good programmes provided in each of the key areas of children's development and learning
- The very positive relationships and very effective interaction between staff and children
- The very effective support for children with special educational needs
- The very effective leadership of the manager and the commitment and hard work of the nursery team.
The report recommends only that the manager and staff should continue to develop systematic and rigorous for monitoring and evaluating the work of the nursery, to improve further the high quality experiences for children.
College Principal Gordon Dargie welcomed the report. He said, "I am pleased that the quality of the children's experience was found to be so good and I am very pleased for the manager Marina Eva and for all the team at the nursery that all their good work has been recognised. The one recommendation for improvement is to keep up the good work. I am sure that Marina and her team will do just that."
