Inspectors Report Finds Excellent Quality of Nursery Education at Aith
The Nursery class at Aith Junior High School has been commended by Her Majesty's Inspectors of Education (HMIe) in a report published on 17 November 2004. The nursery class was inspected both by the Care Commission and the HMIe in June 2004, and was found to be very good in all of the indicators that were used. They particularly praised the warm, welcoming environment and very good outdoor play area, as well as the commitment of staff and quality of teamwork. They stated that the programmes for children's learning and development were very good; that the quality of the curriculum was high, and that planning, assessment and reporting procedures were excellent. They also praised the effective leadership by promoted staff and the nursery teacher.
The Head Teacher, Jim Nicolson said that he was delighted that the hard work of all the staff had been recognised, and that children attending the Aith nursery had such a good start to their education.
