Hayfield Play Area - Fire Damage
Between the hours 7.30 and 9.00pm on the evening of Wednesday 24th August, fire seriously damaged a large piece of play equipment in the Hayfield Play Area.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are calling for witnesses.
Staff at SIC's Community Development department and Area Councillor, Gussie Angus have expressed their deep disappointment at what appears to be a further act of determined vandalism in this popular play area.
Most of the play area remains in use and the SIC remains committed to maintaining the play area. The council would urge anyone with information to contact the Lerwick Police.
