Information from the Council

The Council is currently involved in providing everyone in Shetland with information about the way it has performed over the last year.  This is part of a drive from the Scottish Executive to ensure that all local authorities are informing the public about the services they provide.

Detailed information about the Council’s performance has been published on the Council’s internet site at http://www.shetland.gov.uk/performance/documents.asp.  This information is the Council’s Statutory Performance Indicators for 2005-06, which provides standards of performance achieved by the Council compared to 2004-05.  It covers areas such as cost of administering certain services to standards of education and environmental health provision.

  • This publication is also available in large print and tape, and can be translated on request, by contacting the Policy Unit: policy@shetland.gov.uk or by phoning 01595 744510.

We are also going to send out another Shetland Islands Council calendar which will again include a summary of our performance during the past year.  It is intended that every household in Shetland will receive this during December.

Ends.
