Employers Survey
Shetland Islands Council is conducting a survey of all sole-traders and employers. The purpose of this survey is to gain a better understanding of the Shetland economy so that economic strategy and resultant development activities are better designed and targeted.
The survey consists of a self-completion postal questionnaire that has been sent out to all identified sole-traders and employers in Shetland today. The questionnaire is mostly tick boxes and has been kept as simple as possible, it will hopefully take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and a reply paid envelope is provided. The responses should provide a much clearer picture of Shetland industry and activity - there are no right or wrong answers.
The responses will be treated as strictly confidential. Once the survey and analysis are complete the results, which will be widely available, will be aggregated from all returns and shall not enable the identification of any individual organisation.
If any sole-trader or employer does not receive a survey it would be very helpful if they could contact the Economic Development Unit (01595 744 940) for a questionnaire so that information about their organisation can be included in the overall economic picture for Shetland. Questionnaires are also available electronically on request.
Responses have been requested by 13 July 2007 and all respondents will be entered into a prize draw for a luxury hamper of Shetland products.
