History in the Home
History in the Home is an evening of photo, slide, cine and video image sharing on Wednesday 29th August at 7.30pm at the Shetland Library. As Graduate Placement at the Shetland Library, Trevor Jamieson’s role has been to engender interest in local studies through publications, web-based resources, innovative ideas and events. In this regard, the public are asked if they have any old photographs; slides, cine films or video clips that are now historically significant? For example, perhaps you deliberately or inadvertently captured on film; an event which no longer happens, a building that no longer exists or shipping that no longer frequents Shetland waters. If so, why not bring your material along to the Shetland Library and share it with other interested individuals? The event is free and everyone is welcome.
The evening will also include Trevor’s presentation that will explore Lerwick’s recent past and illustrate changes along the waterfront culminating with seldom-before-seen video footage of fishing boat Nil Desperandum at work in Mousa Sound and behind Bressay. Slide, Cine (Standard only) and Video projection facilities will be available by prior arrangement, please call Trevor on 07900 238 819.
Ends.
