Shetland Islands Council - Public Performance Calendar 2006-07

The Shetland Islands Council’s Public Performance Calendar is now available for collection from Council outlets across Shetland.

The calendar provides information on the Council’s key achievements during 2006-07, some of the things that weren’t completed and things that are being planned for the coming year.  This year it is fully illustrated with photos of scenes from across Shetland that were taken by Council employees.

The calendar also includes useful contact numbers and addresses, dates such as school and Council public holidays and events such as the Shetland Folk Festival, Blues Festival and ‘Flavour of Shetland’.

Commenting on the release of the calendar, Convener Sandy Cluness said,

"I think it's very important that the Council provides this kind of performance information on a regular basis, to keep members of the Shetland public informed on how we are performing. The calendar has proven to be a popular method of getting this information across during the past couple of years, with auditors recently highlighting it as an example of good practice in Scotland. I would therefore encourage people to pick up a copy of the calendar from one of the many Council outlets across Shetland, or contact us and we will arrange to send one".

The calendar will be available from the following places:- Council ferries, Shetland Library, library vans, Council offices, Viking Bus Station, Tingwall Airport, School offices and Care Centres.  If members of the public are unable to collect a copy of the calendar from a Council outlet, they can contact the Policy Unit on 01595 744510 or email policy@shetland.gov.uk and a copy can be sent out.
