August Grant Awards
The Grants Unit supports the work of the Sport and Leisure Service and Community Work Team, within the Education and SocialCare Department, and also acts as agents for Shetland Charitable Trust. In total 6 grants have been awarded during the month of August - See appendix A.
Local voluntary organisations throughout Shetland have been awarded a total of £14,150.00 in grant assistance from Shetland Islands Council and Shetland Charitable Trust grant aid schemes towards a range of community projects and activities.
The total cost of these projects was £46,177.95, with match funding of £32,027.95 being secured from other sources. These projects, which are managed by volunteers, significantly improve the quality of life for all living in Shetland and support the local economy.
