Evaluation of School Estate Management
The first two evaluations of the school estate begin on Monday 11 December. A meeting has been arranged for the evaluation teams for Skerries Secondary Department and Sandness Primary School. Each team consists of the Head Teacher for the school, the School Board Chair, a member of the Community Council, the Quality Improvement Manager for the school (chair), the Quality Improvement Officer for the school, the Councillor for the area, union representation for both teachers and other school staff, a member of the Legal department and either the Education Spokesperson or Chair of Services Committee.
The Evaluation Team will meet throughout the three month period of evaluation. The information which is gathered will be discussed by the Evaluation Team.
During the three month period it is necessary to diary in consultation meetings with the following:
- School Staff
- School Board or equivalent under the Parental Involvement Act
- Community Council
- Public meeting.
In some of the very small communities it may be that there is no need for all of these meetings to be separate as the people may be the same. The Evaluation Team will decide on the exact consultation meetings.
The media will be kept informed and the dates of the meetings will be shared once the Evaluation Team have agreed them.
A web site area will be created for the evaluation of school estate management which will have public access.
The Education Board will be reported to throughout the three month period on progress and with the information which is gathered.
The Quality Improvement Manager will write the report to the Head of Service at the end of the three month evaluation.
The Head of Service will present a report to the Services Committee on each individual evaluation
