September Grant Awards
The Grants Unit, which supports the work of the Sport and Leisure Service and Community Work Team, within the Education and Social Care Department, has awarded the following grants during the month of September - See appendix A.
Throughout Shetland, 36 local voluntary organisations and two individuals have been awarded a total of £49,003 in grant assistance towards their projects.
The total cost of these projects is in excess of £134,296, with additional funding of over £85,000 being secured from both local and external sources.
The grants awarded support a range of arts, sports, heritage, environmental and youth projects across Shetland. All the projects help to maintain and improve the quality of life for local people, through the work of volunteers in community groups.
