Report by the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman
The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO) provides a 'one-stop-shop' for individuals making complaints about organisations providing public services in Scotland. The following report is available on the SPSO website, and relates to Shetland Islands Council.
SPSO Report |
Report Number: 200500875 Date: 29 August 2006 The complaint relates to the sale of land owned by the Council, which subsequently restricted Mr and Mrs C's access to their former home which they rented from the Council. Mr and Mrs C decided to move into another council house but were unhappy that this move affected their discount entitlement and their right to buy the new property. The SPSO decided to partially uphold an element of the complaint. Full Report: |
