February Grant Awards
The Grants Unit, which supports the work of the Sport and Leisure Service and Community Work Team, within the Education and Social Care Department, has awarded 20 grants during the month of February 2008 - See appendix A.
Local voluntary organisations throughout Shetland have been awarded a total of £27,934 in grant aid towards a range of community projects and activities.
The total cost of these projects was in excess of £44,058, with match funding of £16,124 being secured from both local and external sources. These projects, which are managed by volunteers, significantly improve the quality of life for all living in Shetland and support the local economy.
