Step 1

Setting out the aims of your policy/ function/ strategy

Step 2

Consider the data/ research available to assess likely impact on equality strands

Step 3

Complete the Screening section and decide whether further assessment is necessary. If your policy/ function/ strategy is likely to have a negative impact, you must go on to section 2, the full assessment

Step 4

Consider alternative ways of delivering your policy or function in order to minimise negative impact or eliminate unlawful discrimination

Step 5

Assess whether any further research or consultation is needed to investigate the impacts of the proposal on diverse groups

Step 6

Consult relevant stakeholders

Step 7

Make a decision

Step 8

Make arrangements to monitor and review the impact. Include other adverse impacts
