Cruising in Shetland - Scalloway
The capital of Shetland until the 18th Century the harbour is sheltered from the unpredictable Northern Atlantic weather. Scalloway is ideally positioned for expeditions and exploration of the West side of Shetland. The historic settlement of Scalloway will allow passengers who just wish to stretch their legs and stock up on souvenirs to wander the town at their leisure. For those interested in visiting the island capital, Lerwick is only 6 miles away on the East coast.
Scalloway is an ideal location for smaller cruise ships to berth alongside. Vessels of up to 90m in length and a maximum draft of 7.0m can enter the port. The port is ISPS compliant and local services can be obtained. The islands main airport is 26 miles to the South.
