Commercial Collection
Commercial waste collection applies to all businesses, public sector and Charity organisations.
The Council provides a collection service for commercial premises across the isles, including recyclable materials and non-recyclable waste.
We seek to provide our customers with a service that meets the needs of your business.
If you wish to receive a collection service from us, you must complete and return a Waste Transfer Note.
Collection day
Customers outside of Lerwick will receive a weekly collection, which will be on the same schedule as households in their respective area.
Customers in Lerwick can receive more regular collections, depending on your needs, you must specify this in your annual Waste Transfer Note.
Customers on commercial Street and the Esplanade can use the designated collection points for business recycling and waste. Waste must be contained within Council issued business blue bags. Access to business recycling bins will only be given to our customers.
Charities
All not-for-profit organisations must also complete a Waste Transfer Note (Complete charity number) and separate out recyclable materials.
