Holiday Arrangements for Treatment of Ice and Snow

Members of the public are advised that a limited service will be provided over the Christmas/New Year holiday periods and that this must be kept in mind when planning or setting out on any journey, particularly on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Details of the service are:

 

24 December	Christmas Eve	Normal Sunday Service
25 December	Christmas Day	No Service
26 December	Boxing Day	Restricted Service, 7:30am start
27 December to 31 December inclusive		Normal Service
1 January	New Year’s Day	No Service
2 January	Wednesday	Restricted Service, 7:30am start
3 January onwards	Thursday	Normal Service

The Restricted Service comprises the treatment of main roads linking centres of population, ferry terminals and major loop roads; also main town streets only in Lerwick and Scalloway.

The treatment of ice and snow is a daytime service only, starting at 6am except where noted. No treatment is provided in the evenings or overnight.
