By clicking on the links at the bottom of this page you will be directed to the roads and street lighting fault reporting pages. These should be used to report any problems or defects that you have noticed with any of our roads or street lighting assets.
If you consider the defect that you are reporting to be dangerous and needing to be repaired as an emergency to avoid the risk of serious harm to other road users or members of the public then do not use this procedure. In these circumstances we would urge you to ring 01595 / 744866 to report the details. Outside of office hours please ring the Lerwick Police on 01595 / 692110 who will then relay the details to our standby inspector.
Our reporting software has been automated as much as possible to minimise the amount of typing required when reporting a defect. Most fields can be completed by selecting options from drop down boxes. We have provided help pages to assist you to complete the form and you can switch between the reporting form and help pages as often as you like and you will not lose any of the completed data. As well as reporting details of the defect and identifying its location on a map we will also ask you for some contact details so that we can provide you with an update of progress after processing the information that you provide. You have the option to select your preferred method of contact so that we can update you. In normal circumstances you can expect to hear from one of our inspectors withing a few days to provide you with an update as to how we are progressing with your report. You aslo have the option to select "none" if you do not want to be kept updated with progress. At the end of the reporting process the system will provide a reference number for the report e.g. WEB0840. It would be helpful if you kept a note of this number and quote it should you ever need to seek further information about progress with dealing with your report.
